There are still seats available for my workshop The Lyrical Photograph in Maine later this month at Maine Media Workshops in Camden. It’s a wonderful class and an even more wonderful time to be in Maine, with perfectly languid evenings and moody misty mornings!
Through written prompts and photographic cues you will explore connections to the landscape and the natural world and your own personal narratives; through the visual language of allegory, myth and metaphor.
What students had to say about this class:
"Lyrical Photography" with Sal Taylor-Kydd is a transformative experience. I do not say this lightly. Sal, an incredibly patient and generous instructor (with a great sense of fun), is that rare type of artist who can articulate her version and inspire others to do the same using our own voices and our own imaginations, memories and stories. Sal is super organized and keeps to time; every student in the class gets a real opportunity to share and discuss the work. The assignments are fun but also challenging. And they open up space for individual creativity. I especially loved considering the role of symbols and archetypes. This class made me think about my work in a new way -- a way that asks me to create with greater intention and to make choices as an artist. It's awesome!” Amy S.
